Yongfu Lu
Villas, Wine Bars and a New Wave of Neighbourhood Dining

Yongfu Road · 永福路
Yongfu Lu has moved on from its bar-strip past. This guide maps a practical route along the improved street — from a converted villa doing dry-aged meats to a Chinese-Italian pasta spot hidden behind an unmarked door.
- Changshu Lu Metro (Lines 1 & 7)
- Shanghai Library Metro (Line 10)
Easily accessible from Changshu Lu and Shanghai Library stations.
La Pomme De Terre
French-Canadian Brunch by Day, Bistro by Night

From a Shanghai-based founder who spent a decade in Canada, La Pomme De Terre does classic pancakes with maple syrup, crab meat omelettes, toasts and breakfast mains. Dinner shifts to bistro dishes — foie gras, weekend oysters, pastas, and Canadian specials like poutine, one of the only places in Shanghai offering it.
Address: 47-1 Yongfu Road, Xuhui District (1st Floor) Hours: Daily, 10:00am–midnight Nearest Metro: Changshu Road Station, Lines 1 & 7 Best for:: relaxed brunch, people-watching, poutine lovers
Nono's
Yaya's Grown-Up Sibling — Chinese-Italian Fusion Behind an Unmarked Door

Nono's is the more polished sibling of Yaya's, the Chinese-Italian pasta bar that's been packing tables for years. Chef Chris Zhu leans further into fusion with house-made salumi, fresh pasta, and a claypot-roasted Chongming yellow chicken. Brunch swaps pasta for seafood towers and champagne; Friday and Saturday nights (10:30pm–1am) shift to a late-night menu of caviar-topped nuggets and bottle service. Half the fun is finding it: an unmarked office-style door opens onto a stairway up to a dim, curtained dining room in dark red.
Address: 2/F, 47 Yongfu Road, Xuhui District Hours: Weekdays 11:30am–3pm / 6pm–11pm · Weekends 11:30am–3pm / 6pm–1am Reservations: Opens 1st of each month at 3pm via WeChat (search: Nonos Ristorante) Nearest Metro: Changshu Road Station, Lines 1 & 7 Best for:: stylish dinners, date nights, late-night dining
In Dough We Trust
The Best Tiramisu and Croque Monsieurs on the Block

A small, window-lined café best known for a tiramisu that balances bitter cocoa against sweet cream without being too heavy. Seating is limited, so be ready to leave your number and wait. They also do some of the best Croque Madame and Croque Monsieurs in the city.

Yongfoo Elite
Michelin-Starred Shanghai Cuisine in a 1930s British Consulate Mansion

Housed in a 1930s mansion that once served as the British Consulate, Yongfoo Elite is now a Michelin-starred Shanghai cuisine restaurant and private club built around a large garden with koi ponds, a traditional opera stage, and a cigar bar. The Merchants
Three Venues in One Restored Villa — Café, Fire-Grill and Award-Winning Bar

Three venues in one restored villa: a daytime café and bakery, a fire-grill restaurant built around house-smoked and dry-aged meats and fish, and a cocktail and wine bar upstairs with an award-winning team and deep Spanish sherry list. The building was once the writing department for the Shanghai Film Studio; the dining room still looks out on a 150-year-old tree. Reserve on Dianping (search: TheMerchants).
Address: 52 Yongfu Road, Xuhui District Hours: Daily, 9:00am–midnight Booking: Dianping (search: TheMerchants) Nearest Metro: Changshu Road Station, Lines 1 & 7 Best for:: morning coffee and cinnamon rolls, smoke-and-fire dinners, wine pairings, cocktail nerds
Nora's Wine Shop & Bar
Natural Wines and a Neighbourhood Feel

A compact wine shop and bar run by Nora Liu, with a natural-leaning list that rotates through Alsatian Pinot Gris and bottles from well-known natural producers. Low-key, well-curated, small enough to keep its neighbourhood feel even when busy.
Address: 47-8 Yongfu Road, Xuhui District Nearest Metro: Changshu Road Station, Lines 1 & 7 Best for:: closing out the night, natural wine, something interesting instead of another cocktail

The Verdict
Yongfu Lu still knows how to keep a late night going, but it's the daytime and early-evening version that's worth attention now. The villas are still there, the trees are still there, and the newer crop of restaurants and wine bars have given the street a reason to show up before dark.
